World’s youngest PM denies taking drugs after wild partying video leaked online

Finnish Prime Minister is hit with heavy criticisms after she was seen partying with celebrities in a leaked video.

Sanna Marin, who became the world's youngest serving state leader in 2019 at the age of 34, was filmed dancing wildly with friends and playing to the camera.

She was accused of taking drugs as critics from opposition parties said she is "not fit for PM".

But the 36-year-old denied taking drugs, saying she only drank alcohol and just partied "in a boisterous way".

She also said the videos were meant to be shared just among her group.

"I'm disappointed that they've become public," she was quoted saying, according to Finland broadcaster YLE.

"I spent the evening with friends. Partied, pretty wild, yes. Danced and sang – perfectly legal things.

"And I've never been in a situation where I've seen or known of others [using drugs]."

It's believed that the videos were taken a few weeks ago when Ms Marin partied with several Finnish media personalities at private flats.

Riikka Purra, leader of the opposition party, called for Ms Marin to take a voluntary drug test.

Ms Marin said she had "no problem taking tests" and said she felt no need to change her behaviour.

She explained: "I have a family life, I have a work life and I have free time to spend with my friends. Pretty much the same as many people my age.

Viewers shared their thoughts on social media, with some dubbing her the "coolest prime minister in the world".

One commented: "Looks like a healthy work-life balance to me!"

"That's the issue? Can she be PM in my country?" a second wrote and a third said: "Cool country problem."

"I'm so jealous that Finland gets to have such an awesome leader! It doesn't seem fair," a fourth penned.
