Woman killed in wrong-way crash in Aurora on Monday

A 52-year-old woman is dead after a Monday night crash in Aurora, police said.

According to authorities, they responded to a two-car crash in the intersection of South Aurora Parkway and South Southlands Parkway in southeast Aurora at 7:02 p.m. on Monday.

Investigators believe that the woman was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe going south in the northbound lanes of Aurora Parkway. That’s when her Hyundai was struck head-on by a Nissan Rogue driven by a 42-year-old man. He transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.

The woman’s identity has not been released.

The Aurora Police Traffic Section is conducting an investigation into this crash.

Police did not say if speed or a substance was a factor in the crash.
