Mr Trump’s tweet, which he appeared to attribute to Jonathan Turley,  Shapiro Chair of Public Interest Law at George Washington University, states: “We should look at the votes. We’re just beginning the tabulation stage. We should look at these allegations. We’re seeing a number of affidavits that there has been voter fraud. We have a history in this country of election problems.”

The quote as shared by Mr Trump then adds “In Pennsylvania you had an order by a…” before breaking off in mid-sentence.

A second tweet then adds: “….how these ballots were authenticated, because if there’s a problem in the system about authentication, that would seriously affect the ENTIRE ELECTION – And what concerns me is that we had over a hundred million mail-in ballot in cites like Philladelphia… …and Detroit with a long series of election problems (to put it mildly).””

Despite the allegations, neither Mr Trump nor any of his advisers has provided any concrete evidence to back up his repeated fraud claims.

Mr Trump also took the opportunity to declare: “71,000,000 Legal Votes. The most EVER for a sitting President!”

His opponent, Democrat President-Elect Joe Biden, currently has more than 75 million votes – the highest total in the history of US Presidential elections.

Mr Trump’s latest outburst implies he is not planning to concede in the near future, despite some suggestions son-in-law Jared Kushner had already encouraged him to do so.
