Truck crash in Jefferson County foothills closes U.S. 285 northbound.

A tractor-trailer crash with injuries has shut down northbound lanes of U.S. 285 in the foothills of Jefferson County.

Initially both north and southbound lanes were closed between Parmalee Gulch Road and Colorado 8, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The southbound lanes have reopened, the Colorado Department of Transportation announced at 12:34 p.m. Thursday.

A semi-cab rolled and landed on its roof. Authorities and the Inter-Canyon Fire Department are on the scene.

Two patients were extricated from the crash and taken to hospitals, according to a tweet from the Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District.

A hazardous materials crew is working at the crash site, the CSP said. Drivers should expect long delays, alternate routes are advised and there is currently no time estimate on the reopening of lanes.
