Teen mum missing with baby was ‘on way to meet a man’ before she vanished

A teen mum missing with her four-week old baby was on her way to meet a man before she mysteriously vanished three days ago, her family have said.

Mum-of-one Kashalea Storm James, from Anfield, was last seen on Friday, February 21, with her baby son, Jayden, as police make an urgent appeal to find the pair.

Her emotional mum, Leanne Lewin, also from Anfield, said she just wants Kashalea and her four-week-old grandson to come home.

The 34-year-old said if she could speak to Kashalea, she'd say: "I love her. She's not in any trouble, we just want to help her, we just miss her."

Leanne said the family are very worried for Kashalea and Jayden, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Police are urging anyone with information about the mum and child's disappearance to contact them.

The newborn, Leanne said, has a heart murmur and needs to attend an appointment at hospital this week.

The teenage mum was last seen on Friday after she said she was going to a friend's house.

Leanne claims Kashalea made it to her friend's, but was then taken to the bus station at Liverpool One "to meet a man".

CCTV images of Kashalea leaving her friend's house have been given to the ECHO by Leanne and it's thought Kashalea went missing in the clothes she's pictured in – blue denim jeans, a black North Face coat and trainers.

On Wednesday, February 18, Leanne said she spoke to her daughter for the last time. The family say Kashalea's phone is now turned off.

She said: "She told me that she would see me the next day. Her phone's just off now. We're just trying to get an appeal out there.

"We haven't got any idea where she is and she's vulnerable."

Leanne said Kashalea, who has learning difficulties, had been living in Birmingham for the last year but had come home to Anfield to live with her grandmother on Monday, February 17.

She said he disappearance is "very unusual behaviour".
