The driver of an SUV struck and killed a pedestrian who was attempting to cross Interstate 225 Saturday night, according to Aurora police.
The incident happened at about 9:54 p.m. at the intersection of I-225 and East 6th Avenue in Aurora, police said. The pedestrian tried to cross the interstate and was struck by a driver.
The driver tried to avoid the pedestrian but could not, according to police. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
The pedestrian was discovered lying in the center median with fatal injuries. The person was taken to a hospital but did not survive. Neither the pedestrian nor the driver have been publicly identified.
