Royal fans gush over Harry’s resemblance to Prince Philip in military uniform

Fans of the Royal Family are gushing over the resemblance between Prince Harry and Prince Phillip as photos show just how alike they are.

Both members of the royal household have served their country and the royalist Facebook groups just can't seem to get enough of how alike they look in their military uniforms.

Posting picture after picture captioning each with "Like grandfather, like grandson" fans were in awe of the pair as it appears history was repeating itself.

Prince Philip, the longest-serving consort in British history, began his naval career in May 1939 before joining the battleship HMS Ramillies in 1940, spending six months in the Indian Ocean, aged just 19.

In 1941, the Prince served on the HMS Valiant in Alexandria and two months later was given honourable mentions for his actions in the Battle of Matapan during the Second World War after spotting an unexpected enemy vessel, later he was awarded the Greek War Cross of Valour.

Philip later rises through the ranks becoming one of the youngest officers in the Royal Navy to be made the First Lieutenant and second-in-command the HMS Wallace.

The Duke of Edinburgh ended his active naval career in July 1951, the following year he was appointed Admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps, Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Cadet Force and Air Commodore-in-Chief of the Air Training Corps.

His grandson Prince Harry, followed in his footsteps years later, entering the Royal Military Academy in 2005, aged 21.

During 44 weeks of intense training in Surrey, Harry was known as Officer Cadet Wales.

Prince Harry was commissioned as an Army officer on Wednesday, 12th April 2006.

In October that year, Prince Harry joined his regiment in Windsor and was responsible for a troop of 11 soldiers and four Scimitar reconnaissance vehicles.

Flashing forward to February 2008, The Ministry of Defence confirmed that Duke of Sussex had been serving with the British Army in Helmand, Afghanistan for over two months.

In April that year, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with The Household Cavalry.

Prince Harry served in the Army for ten years, rising to the rank of Captain and undertaking two tours of Afghanistan.

The Duke of Sussex was appointed Captain General Royal Marines in December 2017, succeeding his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, in the role.

In 2018, Harry Major in the British Army, Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Navy, and Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force.

However, Harry has now lost the honorary Navy and RAF ranks.
