Prison officer had sex with 3 inmates including killers while she was on duty

A female prison officer has been jailed after having sex with three inmates while she was on duty.

Latoya Gautrey, 32, of Wellingborough, North Northamptonshire was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday.

At a previous hearing, she pleaded guilty to three counts of misconduct in a public office, Northants Live reported.

Between October 2019 and March 2020, Gautrey was working as a prison officer at HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes, a category A prison.

During this time, she maintained "inappropriate relationships" with three prisoners.

She crept into the cells of convicted killers Levan Greenfield, 30, and Tariq Williams-Dawodu, 23, for night-time trysts, the Sun reports.

The mother-of-three started intimate relationships with the men just “a matter of months” after finishing her training, Amersham Crown Court heard.

She had also been in a relationship with Montell Ashby, who was serving six years inside for conspiring to supply class A drugs, the court heard.

The court also heard that Gautrey sent him nude pictures that he sent on to a relative, and made references to keeping the snaps as possible fodder for "blackmail."

Although prohibited, Gautrey communicated with the prisoners through mobile phones in their possession.

Gautrey was arrested in March 2020 and charged on April 21 this year.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Jacqui Baverstock, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “Gautrey was the holder of a public office during which she formed inappropriate relationships with prisoners who were serving sentences for serious offences.

“She failed to act appropriately or report that they had access to mobile devices that are illegal within the prison system.

“Her behaviour undermines the criminal justice system and she has been sentenced as a result.”
