Prince Harry and Meghan declined an invitation to the Duke of York’s 60th party

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle will not be attending Prince Andrew's upcoming 60th birthday bash on Wednesday.

It's believed the Sussexes decision to decline the invite is an "open secret," according to sources.

Members of The Royal Family are set to gather on Wednesday to celebrate Prince Andrew's milestone birthday.

Despite declining the invitation from Harry's uncle, Meghan and Harry are believed to be sending him a gift as well as a video message which will be played to guests.

Harry and Meghan have been living in Canada since they made the controversial decision to step down as senior members of The Royal Family after an extended Christmas break in the country which Meghan had previously called home.

Experts claim that Her Majesty The Queen initially had plans to host a party to celebrate Andrew's landmark birthday which would also include celebrating his charities.

However, it's now believed that the Queen "is [now] understood to be holding only a small family dinner."

Fox News royal correspondent Neil Sean said: "It's not very nice for the Queen as, whatever people say and think, [Andrew] is [still] her son and she wanted her close family around her."

Sean went on to say it's currently unclear if the couple will travel to the UK for Princess Beatrice's upcoming wedding.

"A source [told] me, 'Beatrice really got on well with Meghan and is sad she left, but so far they have been unable to keep that friendship going.'

"Others though [say] that Meghan values her own PR and believes any association right now with the brand of York may not be that great for the couple earning power outside the royal family,"

Reports by People claim that Harry and Meghan are "besotted and very sweet with each other."

A source went on to say: " Archie is the priority. It's very much still about taking care of him and putting the family first.

"He's a happy kid, he loves to laugh. Archie and Harry have such a good time together. They are trying to live their life as regular parents."

Daily Star Online has contacted a representative for The Duke and Duchess for comment.
