Mum sets out on school run then films moment she realises she left kids at home

A mum was left in fits of laughter when she realised she’d forgotten her kids at home after setting out on her school run.

The dozy woman, thought to be from the US, explained she was half-asleep as she got into her car without realising she'd left her two sons at home.

The woman recorded her reaction as she discovered her children weren’t in the back seat.

She breaks into a fit of laughter as she films the empty passenger seat next to her, panning the camera around to show the rest of the empty car.

She said: “I’m driving to school without my kids. I’m taking the kids to school and I don’t even have them in the car.

“I have to go back and pick them up. I can’t believe I left my kids.

“I got in the car and left. Oh my god I’m such an idiot, I was half asleep this morning.”

The mother then turned her car around and headed home where she found her two sons waiting patiently for her outside their house, with one of them asking: "You went all the way?", according to The Sun.

The mother's video was later reposted to Twitter, with the caption: "She really drove her kids to school but her kids weren't in the car I can't stop laughing".

Another added: "I like that you can tell that this isn't staged! She's a real mom who was real tired who real life just got in and started driving. Hope she had a good rest of her day."

A third wrote: "Hilarious! As the parent who usually was the one that drove our kids to school, I can vouch for the possibility of this happening. It's so funny because it is so possible."
