A funeral turned into a cemetery rave as a DJ rocked up with turntables in the middle of the graveyard.

Mourning the loss of a loved one transcended into a dancehall party for well-wishers at Witton Cemetery in Birmingham last week.

People on social media have been divided over the joyful scenes of funeral-goers partying beside gravestones.

While some hail the scenes as "the most fun funeral ever", others objected to dancing above the buried bodies of strangers.

Video footage captured the moment the congregation began busting some moves after a DJ set up his turntables in the middle of the graveyard.

Mourners dressed in black can be seen smiling and laughing in a clip obtained by Birmz Is Grime which has been viewed 55,000 times in less than 24 hours.

One person commented: "What a lovely tribute, I'm sure Katty would be smiling down. Nice to see a proper celebration of someone's life."

Another added: "Rip my friend #katty you had a send off like no other #weloveyou".

A third person wrote: "A beautiful and fun-filled way to say goodbye to a loved one.
