Moment women smash vase over head of elderly man in violent launderette brawl

A horrifying video appears to show a pair of women in a launderette attack a man and hit him over the head with a vase.

In the clip, recorded in Brooklyn, New York City, at around 4 am, two women are filmed walking into the laundry shop.

One is wearing a pink sarong and has a kissing emoji handbag and the other is dressed in black shorts with a yellow and green top.

The woman in the yellow top is recorded throwing an object at the man's head, causing him to collapse onto the floor.

As the man, who is reported to be 69 years old, struggles to get up, the woman wearing pink throws a blanket over his head and they run towards the exit.

One of the women bends down to pick up something on the floor before they rush out.

Although the clip was recorded on June 8, it was uploaded on Twitter on Thursday (July 15) by New York Police Department in a bid to locate the suspects.

NYPD News tweeted the video with the caption: "WANTED for ASSAULT: Do you know these individuals?

"On 6/8 at approx 4:00 AM, at 255 East 98 Street in Brooklyn, a 69-year-old male was punched in the face & struck in the head with a vase by these two suspects."

"Any info? DM @NYPDTips or anonymously call them at 800-577-TIPS."

There have been reports of a so-called "knockout game" in New York where people sucker punch strangers unconscious.

Police said they don't have specific data to back up claims that the unusual crime is happening but there have been random attacks on strangers in 2021.

One of the victims was an elderly woman walking home when she was attacked, leaving her with fractures in her face and a broken nose, and two black eyes.
