Meghan Markle’s surprising connection to Princess Diana’s last unfulfilled dream

Meghan Markle and Princess Diana have a surprising connection through one of Diana’s unfulfilled dreams before her tragic death.

Princess Diana had big plans for her life after she left Prince Charles and the Royal Family behind.

Sons Prince Harry and Prince William were her top priority, but the People’s Princess reportedly had her eyes set on the big screen – just like Meghan.

Royal expert Howard Hodgson claims Diana had accepted 30 pages of a script written especially for her and had dined with Warner Brothers bosses.

Showbiz was reportedly her second career option and had initially hoped former Prime Minister Tony Blair would give her an ambassador role of some sort, Hodgson said.

In Hodgson's 2007 biography Charles — the man who will be King – Hodgson said: "She was hopeful that Tony Blair would find an ambassadorial role for her that would surely keep her face on the front pages for years to come.

"And if he didn’t, she had other ideas of self-publicity that could act as plan B."

He added: "She had accepted 30 pages of script written especially for her, and had even dined with the studio bosses at Warner Brothers.

"…Given her addiction to celebrity, she must have been seriously tempted to take the film role."

Princess Diana's life was tragically cut short in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997, when she was just 36.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have also been reportedly offered a number of showbiz opportunities since leaving the Royal Family, and Meghan has already established herself as a star appearing on Suits.

The actress’s first role was as ‘Hot Girl #2’ in a film that starred Ashton Kutcher before she landed parts on ‘CSI’, ‘90210’ and the Russell Brand hit film ‘Get Him to the Greek’.

Meghan also grew up around TV stars due to her father Thomas Markle’s job as a Director of Photography on Married… with Children.

In an interview, Meghan once said: "I grew-up on the set of Married… with Children, everyday after school for 10 years, I was there."
