Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "splashed out on" son Archie's birthday presents – even writing him a "sweet" poem to celebrate his special day, it has been reported.
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor turned two years old on Thursday, May 6, and celebrated the occasion with his mum and dad at their home in Montecito, California.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son received warm wishes from people across the world on his birthday, which is said to have included a homemade card from Mum and Dad.
Archie was also treated to some new toys and a new birthday outfit, according to one source said to be close to Meghan and Harry.
"While Harry and Meghan are raising Archie to be grounded, they go the extra mile on his birthday," a source told Us Weekly.
"They made [his] card themselves and wrote a sweet poem inside, splashed out on gifts – including outdoor toys – and have bought him the cutest birthday outfit!"
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped their royal titles as they posted a message to their followers calling for people to donate to a charity offering underprivileged communities Covid vaccines on their son's birthday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they had been "deeply touched to feel the warmth and support" of their family in honor of Archie's birthday.

In a joint statement on their Archewell foundation website and on the Global Citizen website, Harry and Meghan said: "We have been deeply touched over the past two years to feel the warmth and support for our family in honor of Archie’s birthday.
"Many of you donate to charities on his behalf and mark the occasion by giving back or doing an act of service – all through the goodness of your hearts.
"You raise funds for those who need it most and continue to do so organically and selflessly. We remain incredibly grateful."
The statement reiterated their support for the equitable distribution of coronavirus vaccines, following Harry's appearance at Vax Live at the weekend.
They also released a new picture of their son to celebrate the big day.
The adorable sepia photo shows Archie holding a set of birthday balloons as he enjoys playing outdoors.
Earlier in the day, The Queen wished her great-grandson Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a happy birthday.
A tweet from the official royal family account, accompanied by a photograph of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with their son days after he was born, said: "Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today."

Prince William and Kate Middleton posted a heartwarming family portrait to their official Instagram account.
The photo shows members of the Royal Family gathered around proud parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle holding their newborn son at his christening.
"Wishing Archie a very happy 2nd birthday today," the caption reads.
Grandpa Prince Charles also sent his best wishes on the special occasion.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall posted on Twitter: "Happy birthday to Archie, who turns two today."
