Man who spent £10k on trip arrested for refusing temperature check at Disneyland

A man who visited Disneyland Orlando was arrested after he refused coronavirus temperature checks at the park’s entrance.

Kelly Sills, a tourist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, visited Disneyland in February on a holiday that reportedly cost him $15,000 (£10,850 ).

Sills’ holiday was going well until Disney Springs officials asked him to take part in the resort’s Covid temperature checking screening.

The visitor allegedly refused and immediately got into an argument with staff outside the Boathouse restaurant.

An affidavit claims Sills then argued with the security manager who told him he was "no longer welcome at the park" that day.

Police were then called and bodycam footage from the Oran County Sheriff’s Department allegedly showed Sills shouting "I spent $15,000 to come here" when police tried to remove him.

According to the police report, a woman can also be heard asking officers not to arrest Sills.

To that, a man responded: "He’s not listening.

"All he had to do was get temperature checked. That’s it."
