A suspect in a hit-and-run crash in Aurora, in which two people waiting for a bus were struck on East Colfax Avenue, has been arrested.
Jerry Lee Mahan, Jr., 41, is being investigated for leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious bodily injury, careless driving, failure to stop at a red light, and no proof of insurance, according to the Aurora Police Department.
The crash happened about 7:35 p.m. Jan. 24 at Colfax and Moline Street, police said.
The driver fled the crash scene on foot. One of the two victims was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The two people hit were pinned between the vehicle and a bus stop shelter. Aurora Fire Rescue extricated the pair from the wreckage. The case will be presented to the Adams County District Attorney’s Office.
