A Ukrainian “critical infrastructure facility” was rocked by strong explosions overnight, a local news source has reported. Videos posted by Belarusian independent news outlet Nexta to Twitter show the moment a blast ripped through the Novomoskovsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, causing yellow flames to ignite the night’s sky. Nexta claimed in a tweet that the explosions – which also reportedly damaged residential properties – were caused by “two Iranian drones”, but this is yet to be independently verified. The US accused Iran of shipping drones to aid Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine in February, but the country’s leaders have denied assisting Vladimir Putin. While Tehran has shipped drones to Russia in the past, officials claim they did not send supplies to explicitly aid the Russian invasion.
