Police are investigating a violent attack on a teenager who was set upon by a gang of six in a park on Sunday afternoon.
Reports have emerged the “six-on-one” attack involved a group clad in masks jumping on a youth and kicking him in the face in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
The shocking scenes unfolded in front of horrified bystanders at Langton Park at 3.14pm on Sunday afternoon.
Police rushed to the scene and an investigation is underway – although it is unclear if arrests have yet been made.
An eyewitness has shared unsettling details of the attack – which saw the bespectacled victim pulled to the floor where he was kicked and left bleeding.
The bystander told StokeonTrentLive: "A lad was jumped by five or six people in masks.
"His face was covered in blood from being kicked with his glasses. I believe the glass had gone into his eyes.”
The witness claims to have been present when “four police vehicles” arrived on the scene.
They added: "I'm not sure what had happened before but I hope the young man is OK as he looked quite distressed."
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of an assault at Langton Park at 3.14pm today.
"We are still dealing with the incident so we are unable to say at this time whether there have been any serious injuries or arrests."

Officers were reported to still be on the scene on Sunday evening.
