Golden retriever who loves sleeping jammed in automatic door has viewers howling

A golden retriever caught on video trying to sleep while her head is continually battered by an automatic door has left viewers in stitches.

The strange pooch, called Addie, was filmed slumped half-in and half-out of her owner's home.

While she lay there, looking slightly despondent, the automatic doggie door continually shuts on her head before springing back up again.

Addie shakes her head but otherwise acts oblivious to the obvious discomfit.

Her owner, TikTok user @serez91, uploaded the clip on the video-sharing app with the caption: "She cracks me up."

The funny video has since been watched more than 3.4 million times and received thousands of comments.

"She's just trying to feel something," joked one viewer.

A second quipped: "I just found my spirit animal."

"You don't move from a comfy sleeping spot," commented another person.

Taking a darker turn, someone else asked: "Who else thought she was about to get guillotined?"

Another person reckoned the dog liked being outside but also wanted to be with her owner, so compromised with the bizarre sleeping position.

Many viewers commented they had no idea automatic dog doors even existed and were desperate to buy one for their own pooches.

One asked: "Okay, but where did you get this dog door?"

"What is the name of that doggie door?" said a second fan.

This comes after a cheeky golden retriever hilariously ignored his owner when she pretended to collapse to the floor and pass out – taking the opportunity to steal her food instead of helping.

Another golden decided to play dead and make his owner drag him because he didn't want to leave his favourite patch of grass.
