A blackmailing paedophile whose youngest victim was just eight-months old has been jailed for 32 years after admitting to targeting nearly 2,000 people.

Abdul Hasib Elahi, from Sparkhill, Birmingham, blackmailed victims worldwide to horrifically abuse themselves, siblings and children in exchange for money.

Elahi has been jailed for 32 years after he masqueraded as a stockbroker or rich businessman on a sugar daddy website and even contacted victims on social media.

He would find victims who were in financial debt or were too young to be on the site and would trick them into sending both naked and partially clothed images.

His victims were promised payment of thousands of pounds for posed images and he would send fake screenshots showing them money had left his account in similar transactions to convince them.

Elahi would force his victims into committing abuse on themselves in horrific ways, which included self-mutilation.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) said was one of the most sickening sexual offending the National Crime Agency they had investigated..

Elahi would also blackmail women into sending him footage of them abusing young children and making girls abuse their siblings.

His victims were left so terrified they felt they had no choice but to comply.

The NCA also revealed Elahi would sell the footage as “box sets” to other offenders, earning him more than £25,000

His crimes only came to an end on December 19 in 2018 after an allegation of blackmailing a 15-year-old girl in America came to light.

Elahi admitted the charges, which were committed between 1 January 2017 and 7 August 2020, in separate hearings at Birmingham Crown Court over the last six months.

The charges include multiple counts of blackmail, disclosing private sexual films and photographs to cause distress, making and distributing indecent images of children, encouraging the sexual assault of children, sexually assaulting a boy, causing or inciting children to engage in sexual activity, fraud and possessing more than 65,000 indecent images of children (IIOC) – including babies being raped.

There were 79 victims on the indictment, ranging from eight months to an adult.

He was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court today and will be on licence for eight years when he's released from prison.

The judge also ordered Elahi to register as a sex offender for life.

A second defendant, Kirsty Nicholls, 35, of Northolt, Middlesex, also admitted offences.

She knew Elahi from a sugar daddy website and together they admitted two sexual assaults against a child and both admitted making indecent images of the child.

Nicholls was sentenced to six years but will only serve nine months in prison, with the rest being on license.
