A man and woman have been arrested as suspects in the fatal shooting of a dog in Lakewood.
Sean Andrews, 42, and Desiree Andrews, 40, of Arvada, have been arrested as suspects for the Aug. 1 shooting of a dog near the intersection of West 12th Avenue and Teller Street, according to police.
The couple was taken into custody just before 7 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 2800 block of South Ivan Way in Denver, police said.
Investigators are still looking for a silver Chrysler 300 as part of the case.
The couple are being held at the Jefferson County jail on investigation of aggravated cruelty to animals and possession of weapon by a previous offender. Desiree Andrews also faces a violation of bail conditions.
Witnesses told police a man and a woman pulled up in a silver Chrysler 300 and parked near the intersection. They appeared to be arguing as they got out of the car with the dog. The man was then seen struggling with the dog, holding it down, as the woman shot it multiple times. The pair fled in the Chrysler.
