A conventional war in Ukraine would see Russia defeat NATO-aligned forces “in a matter of days,” political analyst John Varoli has warned. Mr Varoli also blasted the leadership of US President Joe Biden, branding the current White House’s attempts to confront Russian President Vladimir Putin “a catastrophe.”
Mr Varoli told RT: “I mean, Biden has brought NATO to the edge of a catastrophe, potential catastrophe in the case of a war.
“Let’s just forget the nukes for a second if a conventional war would break out, Russia would probably win in about a few weeks.
“I mean, they just have to come in from the north like a dagger and hit Kiev
“They could just launch missiles into Kiev and take out the military and political infrastructure of Ukraine it can be done maybe in a matter of days.

“So NATO will lose in a conventional war.”
He continued: “But first I just want to go back a second to answer the question, why is this all happening? And the reason is because Joe Biden, his administration is an absolute catastrophe, absolute catastrophe.
“On the foreign policy front on the domestic front domestically, we have an economic crisis the worst in 50 years, runaway inflation, poverty is also increasing rapidly.
“A lot of discontent at home, of course, on the foreign policy front, the worst foreign policy disaster since…since Vietnam, Afghanistan obviously.

“So this is a man…his administration is one disaster after another he’s got to deflect the popular discontent away from all these problems.”
The US President has been slammed for failing to curb Russian aggression over Ukraine.
The Nation Editor Katrina Vanden Heuvel believes Mr Biden’s response to the build-up of Russian forces on the Ukrainian border has only succeeded in pushing Putin to pursue closer ties with China’s President Xi Jinping.
On Monday, Ms Vanden Heuvel told Sky News Australia: “This is going to push Russia further into the arms of the Chinese if it proceeds without a resolution with the West, with the European alliance.

“You know, interestingly Ukraine could be a part of both east and west part of Russia, part of EU, part of the European alliance.
“Putin and Xi are meeting next week I believe at the Olympics, what strikes people in this country is that there was a thought that there would be a heavy pivot to Asia, to China, to Taiwan to deal with those issues.
“But instead, the United States has gotten kind of caught up in this.”
Ms Vanden Heuvel added: “So I think there’s a folly in the way the United States foreign policy is operating to bring Russia and China together in this instance.”
