What is moon water?

Moon water refers to water that has been energetically charged by moonlight. Some people add some crystals, provided they are sustainable sourced and water-safe. Most recommend rose quartz when it comes to adding crystals to moon water, while turquoise can also be used for healing and amethyst aids with sleep. If you want to go all out, consider blessing the water with an intention before setting it out. This can be done through the use of burning sage, but if you don’t have any on hand, don’t stress. You can also simply recite an affirmation or enjoy a moment of meditation to pray.

What are the benefits of moon water?

Aside from the ritual involved with moon water, which can be very cathartic and powerful for some, it’s believed that moon water harnesses lunar energy to help better explore emotions, heal and revive spirituality.

Is there a particular lunar cycle that works best?

Different phases of the lunar cycle fulfil a different purpose. As Lai explains to Glamour, “You will need to decide the lunar phase in which you are going to make your moon water, as each phase serves a different purpose. A new moon is usually the time to ‘plant the seed’, when you put out your intention on what you wish to achieve, and a full moon marks the end of the lunar cycle, when you release old habits and patterns that don’t serve you any longer.”

What do you do with moon water?

Ok, so you’ve charged your water and now don’t know exactly what to do? After it’s charged, the moon water can be used for a variety of reasons. You can bathe in it, use it for household cleaning, in your skincare routine and even for drinking – but only if the water is from a suitable source. “You can go ahead and use your water to anoint a sacred space or an object,” says Lai. “Drink it up (provided you have used safe crystals inside the water) during a ritual or meditation to attune to cosmic energy, and many more uses.”

Is moon water available to purchase?

If you’d rather leave it to the experts, you’re in luck. You can purchase fully charged moon water products. There’s Moon Mist Aura Spray which also contains a blend of essential oils as well as water that’s been charged by the full moon, and contains a selection of crystals.
